A classic gangster tale, coated in the form of a musical film, with only child actors, including 13-year-old Jodie Foster, in ‘grown-up’ roles. The plot focuses on a group of New York City gangsters in the early 1930s, revolving around a complicated love story. Interestingly and quite appropriately concerning the children’s cast, instead of real weapons, they use guns shooting whipped cream. But, of course, they do it seriously.
