Ten-year-old Ji-so lives with her mother and younger brother in a van, the only remnant of the bankrupt family business. Their father left them and their playful mother acts as though everything is in perfect order. Ji-so therefore decides to take matters into her own hands and find a home for her family – a real house. In order to get the money she needs to buy a home, Ji-so and her friend Chae-rang concoct a meticulous and detailed plan of stealing one special dog. However, every plan – no matter how well designed and performed – can go south.

About the director Kim Sung-ho
Sung-ho was born in 1970. He graduated in architecture and media from the prestigious New School in New York City. How to Steal a Dog is his third feature, and the script for this title was based on the namesake children’s novel by America author Barbara O’Connor.
