When a single mother of 11-year-old Linh is forced to travel to her native Vietnam, Linh needs to take care of her little sister Tien and their family restaurant. Of course, no one should know about this important task – not the school, not the neighbours, and in particular not the social service. However, the greatest danger is lurking from across the street: she has red hair, her name is Pauline and she knows all the neighbourhood secrets she keeps under (telescopic) surveillance. Fortune Favors the Brave is a film about the magic of friendship and strength of family ties and – no less importantly – about the magical powers of a fortune cookie.
